Magenta Theater is excited to announce the launch of its captivating new production, "Silent Sky", written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by Pat Nims. The play will run from May 2 to May 18, 2025.
"Silent Sky" tells the true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, whose pioneering work in astronomy went largely unrecognized during her lifetime. This compelling drama explores a woman's place in society during a time of immense scientific discoveries, highlighting how women's ideas were often dismissed until men claimed credit for them. As social progress, like scientific progress, can be hard to see when one is trapped among earthly complications, Leavitt's journey is both inspiring and heart-wrenching.
Director Pat Nims shares his thoughts on the production: "Lauren Gunderson's play is a beautiful tribute to Henrietta Leavitt and the countless women whose contributions to science have been overlooked. We're honored to bring this important story to life on the Magenta Theater stage."
Don't miss this poignant and thought-provoking production at Magenta Theater. Advance tickets are $26 and are available now. For more information, please contact: Magenta Theater Phone: (360) 949-3098 Email: info@magentatheater.com
